There is a simple three step process to becoming a student:

To become a registered student, complete the onboarding process:

  • Pay the registration fee
  • Verify that you:
    • Are 18+ years
    • Have completed high school (or equivalent)
    • Speak English at secondary school level or higher
    • Live outside the US or in an allowed state: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Kentucky, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, or Washington.
  • Upload government ID
  • Sign an enrollment agreement
  • Take the Newlane Orientation course

Once you are a student, you’ll start working on introduction courses. 

If you plan to pursue an Associate of Arts in General Studies, pick four courses from the following list:

If you have an associate’s degree and are ready to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, you will take these four courses:

INTRODUCTION TO PHILOSOPHY

INTRODUCTION TO ETHICS

HISTORY OF ANCIENT WESTERN PHILOSOPHY

HISTORY OF MODERN WESTERN PHILOSOPHY

*If you are coming to Newlane University with transfer credits, you will work with a counselor to determine which introductory courses you will take before applying to your degree program. 

After completing four courses, you will pick more courses to take and continue learning!
